Happy New Year!

Hello 2007!

After last night, I should probably still be sleeping but aah, not one to indulge in waking up late ever since school started. Also, Rizal is still sleeping and everyone's out so I'm pretty much left to occupy myself.

Not gonna jump on the wagon and list what great things happened in 2006. But I'll cook up a summary just for you, my loyal readers. :)

2006 flew. It started out with Mira & I going berserk at my house with our crazy pyjama party and our friendship truly bloomed this year. We've reached a stage where we know that nothing can rock this friendship because although it wasn't built on a really strong foundation, we know each other well enough to embrace each other's flaws and make them good. Unconditional love, we say.

The months passed by with many hitches but I got along just fine and I guess I came out stronger and I felt like I knew myself better. Life wouldn't be so meaningful without these painful experiences, yes? That's what I believe anyway. So I was just breezing through life, sidestepping here and there but always telling myself everything's gonna be good one day.

September came and I met Rizal. I have never actually blogged about what happened. But for memories' sake, I think I shall. :)

It was a fine day and I was looking through my Friendster messages and got a really surprising one from Shiqin. She asked me whether I wanted to get to know her friend and she was planning on buying movie tix for him for his very belated birthday and came up with this brilliant idea to actually fix us up. I was hesitant initially and I told her that I needed to get to know this guy first. Thank God Rizal shared the same sentiments. Oh, Shiqin, till now, we still have not received the movie tix!

So we started by sms-ing. It was really weird at first but when he told me that he doesn't speak much Malay, I was thinking 'YAYYYYYYY!'. Not that I have anything against the language itself but people say I sound really weird when I start to chatter in Malay. Just yesterday, someone actually said ''Eh why you speak Malay like that ah. You got short tongue issit.'' HO HO. Ok yes, anyway, we would sms each other all day. We clicked so well in a short period of time that we were actually caught off guard by it. I was teaching then and there were many times when the kids would ask why was I smiling like a happy toad everytime the phone beeped. A Primary 2 boy even came up to me and said, 'Teacher, you in love right? We know." See, how sensitive kids are nowadays. If I remember correctly, he did mention that his mom was actually asking him the same thing except that she referred him as a monkey. HAHA. I love his mom, by the way.

Then, wham-boom, we had our first date. It was really really sweet. I was in the cab and I saw him approaching and I swear the first thing that came to my mind was 'Aww shit, I'm in love.' HAHAHAHA. Don't judge me, please. Heh. Truth be told, it was an unbelievable first date where nothing could go wrong except I didn't talk much because I'm naturally shy. HAHA. There's just something about us that triggered something in me. Subsequent dates after that were good too. I did something I've never done before, like introducing my boyfriend to my friends. That felt good, really good. Things continued from there and we had our share of ups and downs and faith will lead the way.

Ok, that was not much of a summary but you know, I tend to digress a lot. Let's hope everyone will be blessed with a smashing 2007. :)
